Emmanuel Christian Seminary is pleased to offer the Ministry Fellows Program. This program pairs students with local churches, where they can serve in a variety of ministerial capacities during the time they are enrolled in seminary.
All full-time, residential, second-year or higher seminary students are welcome to apply. Returning students are also welcome to apply. Each awarded fellow will have the opportunity to receive up to $10,000 for a 9- month fellowship that runs the academic 2023-2024 year.
Ministry Fellows take part in a cohort model that includes a fall orientation lunch, mid-year review, and a final celebration gathering. In addition to a fellows ministry placement, they have the opportunity to share their joys and struggles with others in the Emmanuel Christian Seminary’s Internship class. We’ve listed the six ministry placement opportunities and descriptions below. A student can list their top three in their application. We will announce the Ministry Fellows church pairings by the end of the spring 2023 semester.

This goal responds to the need for seminary graduates to be more prepared for positions of leadership within churches and other ministries, and it also addresses student financial burdens. Emmanuel is committed to developing students for ministry and supporting the local church. We are so grateful for all our wonderful church partners in East TN!
This program is funded through a generous grant from the Lilly Endowment Inc. Milligan University was awarded a $999,230 grant to support a bold and comprehensive review and redesign of its academic programs at Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan to best prepare pastoral leaders for Christian Churches, Churches of Christ, and the church at large.
Crossroads Christian Church
This position will work closely with the leadership team to minister and disciple those in Crossroads’ Recovery Ministries.

This fellowship opportunity is designed to provide experience in teaching, preaching, and coordinating a discipleship / outreach program.
Hopwood Christian Church
Help Hopwood staff and leadership learn how to connect with and support college and graduate students. Create and establish a sustainable ministry plan for pastoring to students.

Jubilee World Outreach
Housed out of Jubilee World Outreach, this role serves Jubilee and the Black Ministerial Alliance. This role focuses on organization, collaboration, and communication.
The Table
The Table is a Christ-centered gathering launched by addicts for anyone who is struggling with any type of life-controlling problem. This position includes leadership of The Table, a missionary community striving to saturate the city of Bristol with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
