The Embreeville Church of Christ has faithfully served the Lord for 73 years in the Embreeville community of Erwin TN. The church is located roughly 15 miles south of Johnson City Tennessee on interstate I-26. The body of believers at Embreeville make it our churches purpose to love God and to love people, as commanded in Matthew 22:38-40.

After 20 years of service to our church, our current youth minister is retiring upon the hire of a new youth minister. We want you to know we have been praying for you, whoever you are, we pray that you continue to have a zeal and a passion for serving Jesus! If you believe Embreeville could be a good fit for you to call your home we would love for you to send us your resume.

We are looking for someone with:

  • An evident relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Affinity for young people.
  • Ability to lead by example.
  • Available to work extended hours, evenings, over weekends and public holidays, and on short notice.

We hope our new youth minister would seek opportunities to minister outside of the church setting through:

  • Meeting folks where they are, one-on-one activities, counseling, etc.
  • Going to school or sports activities such as FCA, FISH, Young Life, hosting a team, etc.

We would expect the new youth minister to:

  • Support youth outside of the church setting (attending ball games, recitals, graduations, etc.) and develop relationships.
  • Teach youth through ECC Education Ministry – teaching youth and children’s classes perhaps multiple times per week as well as teaching on a junior church rotation.
  • Work closely with other ministries and ministry leaders of the church to provide an example for the young people, to incorporate them into the functions of the church,to encourage their talents, and to encourage discipleship.
  • Plan big (retreats, conventions, weekend trips, etc.) and small (pool parties, rafting trips, dinner outings, etc.) for each age group on a regular basis. This includes advanced planning in the form of making reservations, advertising, communicating, etc.
  • Manage budgets for each group and work with others to oversee financial needs, fundraising when necessary.
  • Recruit volunteers for each age group to support in the work and ministry of each age group.
