Unicoi Christian Church is seeking an enthusiastic musician to lead our congregation in musical worship on Sunday mornings!
This is a part-time position that will require an average of 5-10 hours per week – especially great for full-time students hoping to fulfill an internship requirement or gain ministry experience! We are looking for someone who will work with our ministry team to create a cohesive worship experience on Sunday mornings by:
– Selecting music that coordinates with the weekly message
– Preparing the appropriate audio/visual equipment needed for each service
– Vocally leading the congregation in musical worship
– Attending weekly staff meetings
Beyond vocal ability, our ideal candidate will be able to play guitar and/or piano. We are also excited to hire someone who exhibits:
– A relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for serving the local community
– Emotionally intelligent leadership and strong communication skills
– Punctuality and self-discipline
– Confidence in leading others through times of prayer and spiritual contemplation
– Knowledge of both traditional hymns and contemporary worship music, as well as the ability to artfully combine the two in a multi-generational worship setting
Compensation: This role will pay $100 per week, with the potential for increase based upon the candidate’s level of experience in the field of worship ministry. We are also open to negotiating a form of tuition support if the candidate we select is a full-time student.

We are a welcoming ministry team that enjoys coffee and the occasional hike together. Our church leadership is also very supportive of developing new ministers. The church recently helped cover costs for staff to attend ICOM (the International Conference on Missions).
