K2 the Church, just outside of Salt Lake City, UT, is searching for a Pastor of Discipleship and Teaching who will champion a compelling vision for our body’s focus on disciple making. You must have a track record of practicing relational discipleship and making disciples, combined with a structural vision for how to implement these practices body-wide via a well defined Discipleship Pathway. You must be a gifted teacher who has a future desire to either plant a new church or be a lead pastor. This is a key leadership position within our staff – a leader of leaders who will have a seat on the top management team at K2.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for the direction of all aspects of our Discipleship Pathway, which includes on-ramps and introductory classes, Life Together groups, and equipping/leadership training in how to make disciples
- A teaching pastor who will join the teaching team and contribute to the weekly sermon evaluation process and yearly planning cycles that generate our sermon series content
- Regular teacher during our primary weekend services
- Responsible to recruit, train and encourage our Life Together group leaders
- Leader of the Discipleship staff and 30+ adult volunteers
Primary Qualifications
- Has been a practicing believer for a minimum of 10 years, with strong core biblical knowledge and spiritual maturity
- Experience creating and implementing a Discipleship Pathway within a small or medium sized church
- Gifted, proven teacher with good communication skills in both interpersonal and large group contexts
- Have a history of healthy conflict resolution skill and relational bridge building
