Blountville Christian Church is seeking an Associate Pastor with either a focus on Worship or Student Ministry. Someone with a gifting for leading both would be great, but we anticipate hiring a part time minister to fill the role for whichever this selected candidate does not specialize in. This position is responsible for supporting the overall pastoral duties of the church and either primarily overseeing the spiritual development of the youth or leading the church’s worship ministry. This position combines general pastoral support and either leadership in worship or youth ministry while contributing to the church’s mission and vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Preaching and Teaching:
- Assist in preaching during worship services as needed (preferred, but not required).
- Teach Bible studies, small groups, or Sunday school classes.
Pastoral Care:
- Provide spiritual guidance, counseling, and support to members of the congregation.
- Conduct visitations (hospital, home, or special needs).
- Assist in conducting weddings, funerals, and other church ceremonies.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Support the Senior Pastor and Elders in executing the church’s mission and vision.
- Work with ministry leaders and volunteers to plan and implement church-wide initiatives and programs.
- Attend leadership meetings and offer input on church decisions.
Qualifications:
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in theology, ministry, worship arts, or a related field is preferred, but not necessarily required.
Experience:
- Experience in church leadership, particularly in youth ministry or worship leading.
- Strong teaching, pastoral, and/or worship leading skills.
Skills and Attributes:
- Deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to Christian living.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Musical talent with the ability to lead worship both vocally and instrumentally.
- Ability to connect with youth and inspire their spiritual growth.
- Strong ability to collaborate with the pastoral team and church leadership.
- A heart for worship, with a desire to lead others into the presence of God.
