Deadline Nov 14, 2022

The Foundry is in search of our first Associate Minister of Youth and Family. We are looking for a creative, passionate, and educated leader who is called to live and minister in a diverse, dynamic, and expanding area of the country.

The Foundry is looking for someone who wants to grow relationally, spiritually, and professionally. We seek an adaptable self-starter who will collaborate to develop a culture that inspires children of all ages and families to forge a life-long reliance on God.

Year of the Striker:

Strikers used to serve as blacksmith’s apprentices. Strickers would still wield their own tools but stood close to the blacksmith to learn, grow, and forge in a Foundry. This is essentially what we are looking for in an Associate Minister of Youth and Family. We are a growing church (literally and figuratively). With many young families joining our church, we are trying to get prepared for when these kids grow up. Thus, we have dubbed the year 2022 as the year of the Striker at The Foundry.

The Associate Minister of Youth and Family will be creative, flexible, fun, knowledgable, and work to equip the Strikers of the Foundry. This will be someone who will teach and equip each child and teenager with the essential truths of the gospel, and show them how to express those truths in a loving and life-changing way in the children’s schools and lives. They will also equip the parents in guiding their children along the path of life. And while this is very serious business, at The Foundry we believe wholeheartedly in the power of FUN!

Our Community:

We are a church known for our transforming generosity. We have a food pantry that is open every week, rain or shine, and serves over 50 families with fresh produce, meat, and non-perishable items. We work closely with the local elementary schools to ensure every family knows about this free resource to help them throughout the year.

Additionally, every year we host an interactive nativity (camel included), a HUGE Easter Egg Hunt , and we are a major sponsor of our city’s community festival. So we are sometimes called the “Camel Church” or the “Food Truck Church.” All of these things we do at no cost to the community and our guests. We believe strongly in loving and serving in the place God has planted us so that we can change the culture of our community.

The Public School system in our area boasts some of the best schools in the nation. The Foundry is located in Region 4 of the Fairfax County Public School System (there are 5 total regions). Within our region alone there are 26 elementary schools, and 10 middle, high, alternative, or secondary schools. Fairfax county is also home to a large homeschooling population. All of this is to say, “the fields are ripe and the harvest is ready.”

We are less than 15 miles from the nation’s capitol and because of our location there are innumerable resources at our disposal, from the Smithsonian museums, the Bible Museum, the national zoo, and countless national parks. We are also within 20 minutes of two major airports making travel super easy.
