About Us

Thurston is a family-friendly community within the Springfield-Eugene (OR) metro area. We have solid schools, great parks, hiking/biking trails, and more. Two local rivers provide opportunity for fishing and paddling. This is an outdoor mecca! It's one hour to the coast and one hour to the ski slopes. We have a heart of service, typified by a very special relationship with our local public elementary school. Throughout the year, we provide encouragement to the staff and practical support (food and supplies) to kids living on the margins. The school considers us their "go-to" resource, and we love the opportunity to bring God's light and love into this setting. The congregation is very committed to "building community" within the church, and "reaching out" to the neighborhood around us. In the past few months we have been adding small groups and increasing the number of people who actively serve and give.
