About Us

Thorn Grove Christian Church, located in the outskirts of Knoxville to the east in Strawberry Plains, TN, is a caring and compassionate church. A historic congregation, attendance dwindled during the pandemic, but the congregation is ready for a relaunch with the help of Church Partners of the Smokies. Leadership is forward-thinking, and both male and female leaders are involved in the regeneration of this small church. Being close to Knoxville, residents can come and go as they please from the slower, steadier pace of rural life or commute to the city. Community life in Strawberry Plains is intertwined with the local school system and is family-oriented.
