Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Johnson City, TN, is seeking someone to lead their worship services and develop a comprehensive music program for the church. General requirements include:

• Four-year degree in music preferred but equivalent experience acceptable
• Previous experience in leading and developing a comprehensive music program offering a variety of music styles and programs for various ages
• Understanding and application of praise from a biblical perspective
• Knowledge and appreciation of the liturgical year
• Organizational skills

• Understanding of worship design and flow and sensitivity to how the various elements of worship contribute to the whole of the worship experience

• Knowledge of acoustics and sound equipment, inclusive of online worship
• Familiar with and open to using different styles of worship music.
• Working knowledge of United Methodism and willingness to work within its particular and unique denominational boundaries.

• Working knowledge of copyright laws and appropriate use and reporting of copyrighted material.
• Able to work as a team player
