Community Christian Church at High Vista is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor who will live within the 55-and-older community in central Florida and minister to the seniors who live within the community.

Responsibilities:

As the Senior Pastor at Community Christian Church, he will be expected to lead or assist in accomplishing the following ministries and activities of the church:

• Prepare and deliver sermons and plan the service for each Sunday worship service.
  • Prepare PowerPoint graphics for the sermon as deemed necessary.
  • Coordinate the assistance of church attendees in aspects of worship such as music, prayer, and Scripture reading.
  • Work with and encourage others participating in each service to establish a flow for that particular service which enhances the message in the sermon.
• As Senior Pastor, a primary function of leadership should include participating in and coordinating “pastoral calls” and visits offering ministry to those in need of support. This will include hospital visits and encouraging visitations in homes. Others in church leadership should participate in this ministry.
• The pastor should also be a teacher, and or leader, in the Bible Study ministry.
  • Assist and advise other Bible Study leaders as necessary.
  • Support the Bible Study ministry by encouraging the congregants at church worship services to join others in Bible studies.
• Perform pastoral ministry for baptisms, weddings, and memorial services.
• Provide pastoral counseling to people who attend the church as a “shepherd of the flock” who counsels and prays for those in need of support when facing difficulties and trials in life.
• Meet with the church Leadership Council as a non-voting member in order to act as a consultant on church issues, planning, and budgeting.
• Seek the help of others who are qualified and willing to perform pastoral duties when plans are made for vacation days, unscheduled days off, and sabbaticals.
