Central Christian Church of Bristol, Tennessee, is seeking its next Senior Minister. After 13 years of dedicated service to Central and the Bristol community, Pastor Mark Overton has indicated he plans to retire. Our intention is that our new Senior Minister will work alongside Pastor Mark for three to six months to ensure a God-honoring succession. Once the successor has been identified, an intentional plan will be developed for the leadership authority to shift between the two senior leaders with the exiting leader’s authority becoming less, and the incoming leader’s authority becoming more.
Some Essential Duties and Responsibilities
o Prepare and deliver sermon(s) on Sunday mornings.
o Prepare and teach a midweek Bible study.
o Counsel members and friends of the church upon request.
o Organize and oversee visitation to the sick/shut-in members of the church.
o Oversee and supervise the church staff on a day-to-day basis.
o Complete annual staff performance reviews with appropriate follow-up and offer constructive feedback for change or alternative options for growth and development.
