PURPOSE:

To serve the congregation as a preacher and to work with the elders and/or other leaders in the congregation to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preach at Sunday morning service.
• Teach or facilitate teachers for Wednesday evening and Sunday Morning classes.
• Conduct funerals, weddings.
• Conduct personal studies with individuals interested in learning more about Christ both within the congregation and in the community.
• Visit members in the hospital and follow up with visitors to the congregation.
• Encourage involvement at every level.
• Foster healthy relationships with other preachers in surrounding areas.

MANAGEMENT:

• Serve as a team leader to coordinate office procedures, secretarial staff, and other items relating to providing the congregation with an efficient service center.
• Schedule and lead Sunday School meetings which will enhance and enable better relationships with God, with each other, and with the rest of the congregation.
• Edit, write articles, and ensure quality of weekly bulletin.
• Report to the church Board during monthly meetings.

COUNSELING:

• Provide premarital counseling.
• Provide other counseling, when appropriate, to those who desire it.
• Offer referral and encourage further help for those who need it.
