This is an exciting opportunity for a gifted pastor and leader that has a passion for relational discipleship. The person that steps into this role will have the opportunity to equip the church to go out and be a light within the community of Findlay (and beyond) while leading a talented and healthy staff team. Movement Church is a vibrant, 10 year old church with an average weekly attendance of approximately 250 that is eager to grow, reach new heights in fulfilling The Great Commission, and building relationships within its community.

Position Overview: The Lead Pastor will guide and drive the vision of Movement Church. They will be the primary teacher on Sunday mornings and will lead the staff to provide effective ministry to the congregation and community. The Lead pastor will work alongside the Elders, and will report to the Elder Board.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow Jesus personally, leading from a deep relationship with him that becomes the foundation by which ministry is developed and executed.
  • Serve as the primary voice for the vision of the church, clearly charting out direction and providing consistent and regular communication to the church, staff and elders about the vision and plan to realize it.
  • Develop and execute a plan for self development, always seeking to grow spiritually, professionally and personally.
  • Create, maintain and execute an annual calendar to support effective ministry that includes: teaching schedule/plan, church initiatives, ministry and discipleship alignment, and others as needed.
  • Lead, develop and maintain a team of staff members to provide effective ministry to all demographics and segments of the church; the staff team currently includes the Director of Ministries and Operations, Kids on the Move Director, Director of Discipleship, and Administrative Assistant.
  • Embody and champion the mission, values, and relational discipleship approach of Movement Church.
    Teach approximately 40 Sundays a year providing Biblical, engaging, and relevant teachings. Equip others inside and outside of the church to teach the other weekends in the calendar year.
  • Lead and collaborate with the worship team to ensure a cohesive Sunday gathering experience for the church each weekend.
  • Engage and build relationships within the local community, participating in outreach and missional activities with other churches, and collaborating with other organizations to address community needs.
  • Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care to support and guide the congregation and community.
    Foster and model a culture of integrity, faith and health for the staff, ensuring that the work environment is vibrant, healthy and conducive for effective ministry.
  • In collaboration with the staff and Elders, create and manage a ministry budget that supports and reflects the vision/strategy of the church.
  • Willingly assist the Elders of Movement Church with other ministry projects and initiatives, as needed, to ensure an effective ministry and church.

Job Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree (or equivalent) required, with a Ministry/Bible emphasis preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in a similar role.
  • Proven track record of effective leadership, ministry development, community outreach, and pastoral care.
  • Proven ability to teach and communicate effectively to a variety of audiences and through a variety of communication methods.
  • Alignment with and passion for Movement Church’s theological beliefs, vision/mission, values, and relational discipleship approach.
  • Demonstrated relationship with Jesus; displaying a life of following Jesus closely, professional maturity, high character, and exhibiting the Fruit of the Spirit.

Benefits and Pay:

  • Salary Range: $75,000-85,000, depending on experience/education
  • 4 weeks of vacation

  • Relocation stipend will be considered based on circumstances
