Basic Description:
The Children’s Pastor (he or she) will partner with the Youth Education Committee, Senior Pastor, and Elder Board to provide ministry leadership for children and families at Flora First Christian Church (FFCC).

Typical Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, and evaluate ways to engage Pre-K – 6th grade youth in worship, fellowship, and service
• Develop and oversee a nursery program to help serve families during Sunday worship and Sunday school times
• Oversee weekly Sunday School lessons using material approved by the Youth Education Committee and Senior Pastor
• Help develop and maintain Sunday School teacher rotation in conjunction with the Youth Education Committee
• Oversee the Oasis program (a community ministry for Pre-K – 6th grade students hosted at FFCC) during the school year, including overseeing curriculum, volunteers, and community promotion
• Provide spiritual guidance and leadership for First Step Preschool as needed
• Help with the planning and implementation of VBS in cooperation with Youth Education Committee and partners from other area churches
• Participate in FFCC services and activities

Preferred Qualifications:

• He or she will have faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord, live out an active relationship with God, and agree with FFCC statement of beliefs
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• A Bachelors/Masters degree in education or related field, and/or commensurate experience

Other Details:

• Compensation will be $20/hr with the expectation of 15-20 hours per week on average. Work hours will vary based on time of year and scheduled church events. Pay raises will be negotiated on a yearly basis. One week of paid vacation will be provided for the first year of employment, with other vacation days negotiable
• The Children’s Pastor will be under the immediate supervision of the Senior Pastor
