The role of Children’s Ministry Director (CMD) exists to partner with parents to help kids discover and embrace a relationship with Jesus Christ that will last a lifetime and to fulfill the purpose, mission, and values of the church. The CMD will work under the direction and leadership of the pastor and leadership team.
Responsibilities:
CPKids Ministry
- Leads CPKids Ministry to instill in kids a deep love for Jesus as we equip parents to be their primary spiritual influences.
- Recruits, coaches, and retains large volunteer team broken into several smaller teams
- Oversee CPKids programming on Sunday mornings (Birth-5th grade)
- Counsels children and their parents in the area of baptism or next steps in their faith
- Oversees CPKids’ space to include set up for Sunday services, special activities, stocked, and cleanliness maintained
- Oversees monthly student ministry events (6th-12th grade), build relationships with students and help connect students with partner ministries (Younglife and Wyldlife).
Relational
- Develops a well rounded relationship with leadership, staff, families, kids, volunteers, and local community
- Communicates with staff, volunteers, and family on a regular basis through emails, calls, and texts.
Administrative
- Creates and oversees the CPKids budget
- Creates and manages the ongoing schedule of volunteers for CPKids and Connection Room
- Maintains and updates Kids Ministry information found in Planning Center
- Input, track, and follow up with first-time guests, absentees members and volunteers
- Curriculum Scope and Sequence development and prepares weekly lessons plans, materials, and supplies for each classroom
- Maintains CPKids Youtube channel
- Identify and assist in needs that arise in CPKids families including school supplies and scholarships for camp.
- Sees that summer camp information is dispersed, tracks campers attending and sets up goodie boxes for each, coordinates mail for each camper to receive, and makes bags for
- Younglife and Wyldlife students going to camp
Events
- Manages CpKids calendar and coordinates all events with staff and volunteers
- Provides activities and programming for kids when needed at church-wide events
- Plans and executes annual CPKids Ministry events like VBS, camp, egg hunt, Move up Sunday, Parent’s Night out, and Family Movie night.
- Assist and lead in CP events like Meal pack, Fall Fest, and Christmas Eve Service
Spiritual
- Ensure all actions performed within the context of this position embodies the mission, vision, and values of CPCC.
- Adheres to the Statement of Faith of CPCC
- Is an active member of CPCC, participates in praying, giving, serving, and worshiping.
