CHALLENGE & OPPORTUNITY
The next Children’s Minister lead will be taking over a ministry that has been well run and cared for over the last season. As a new leader transitions into this role, there will be an incredible support system already in place with opportunities to bring their own strengths and passions to fruition.
Here are the qualities that would make a great candidate:
- CHRIST-CENTERED LOVE
Leading with authentic love at MCC means showing Christ’s love in action, not just words. The Children’s Minister will have an excellent opportunity to know the influencers on the kids’ lives, be consistently faithful, and represent walking with Jesus in real life, listening to and genuinely caring for the kids, parents, and volunteers. Doing the job with a willingness to grow with the ministry and the church will create a thriving environment. - DEVOTED AND RESILIENT
The next leader in Kidsworld at MCC should be driven by their calling to children’s ministry. A leader who merely loves telling kids about Jesus could easily get burned out at Markle Church of Christ. While this incredible opportunity will be full of supportive people, beautiful facilities, and loving families, it will also have unpredictable challenges (as all ministries do). Walking with the Lord on this journey will need to be a top priority over walking only with the people. - BRIDGE-BUILDER
The primary role of the Children’s Minister is to provide a place for kids to be discipled. Another added layer would be to include the families in the big picture. There are many opportunities at MCC for parents to find places to grow their faith, which will, in turn, increase the experience of faith in the home. The biggest hurdle to getting the parents to these environments is their kids. Coming alongside parents and the other ministries to see how the children’s ministry can partner would be a huge win.
