Preaching

Published Sermons from the Emmanuel Community

Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan enjoys a strong reputation in good preaching and teaching from scripture. Words have always mattered to this community. We believe that proclaiming God’s truth from scripture changes lives, heals wounds, liberates the oppressed, and restores communities. The collection below of published sermons from the Emmanuel community provides examples of insightful exegesis, beautiful storytelling and proclamation of God’s redeeming work happening throughout the globe and in our community. We share this resource list to celebrate these gifts of the Spirit and to encourage others. We hope this inspires you to dig your wells deep and to preach a good word to a world in need of God’s love.

Description of Academic Journals:

Priscilla Papers is CBE’s award-winning academic journal, and provides interdisciplinary evangelical scholarship on topics related to a biblical view of gender equality and justice in the home, church, and world. Priscilla Papers is available in print and digital formats.

CBE International (Christians for Biblical Equality) is a nonprofit organization of Christian women and men who believe that the Bible, properly translated and interpreted, teaches the fundamental equality of women and men of all racial and ethnic groups, all economic classes, and all ages, based on the teachings of  Scriptures such as Galatians 3:28: “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (NIV 2011).

LEAVEN was a non-profit journal published quarterly by the Religion Division at Pepperdine University.  The journal existed to help fellow Christians think together about the challenges of ministry. The journal’s last publication was in 2018. We are grateful for the good work and legacy of this journal.
